I am very happy about this.

What I am not happy about is that we can't have one thread about the dub without "NO VIC HE SUX!" or people voicing their dislike of the dub happening in the first place. I get it fandom. You don't like Vic. Some of you don't like dubs. Get over it.

Ugh yeah, ikr? He hasn't even be confirmed to be in the dub save for rumored "leaks", and for all we know he could play one of those random human characters. I don't like Vic either, but dude, just accept it. And considering the size of the cast, he'll have to be someone, since dub studios don't really like to cast newbie actors if they can help it.

Now, I shall forget about Vic's existence and ponder if they will bother giving all the Germans different accents. I mean, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein should obviously have different accents...but what about Germany and Prussia? There was a Prussian dialect of German called East Prussian, but I would think that dialect is dead.

Then again, there is a high chance of them not bothering with different German accents. Oh well.

I wasn't going to watch the dub. Not that I have a problem with dubs (most of the time) but I'm just happy with the sub.

I don't even care about the whole Vic uproar. I don't LIKE him as a person, or his views or any of that shit, but he does do decent voice acting work. His characters mostly get the same voice... but the mouth movements usually fit rather well.

There's a reason he's got such a love affair with Funi. x.x

I think Vic is mediocre at best as an actor, but in most cases he doesn't sound bad enough for me to really have that much of a problem with him as far as listening to his voice in a dub. I actually thought he was really good in one role he did; Femio from Princess Tutu.

It was always unavoidable for him to be in the Hetalia dub from the moment FUNimation licensed it; even without Vic and FUNi being BFFs, the cast for Hetalia is huge and anime dubbing studios prefer to use people they've already worked with over new people, that pool of established actors that are still around looking for voice acting work is small, and Vic's in it. So fussing about him being in the dub or not is pointless. Honestly, so long as he's not voicing any of my personal favorites, or someone that he couldn't possibly play well given his capabilities, I don't care. And honestly, I don't really so much care about him voicing my favorites because of my opinion of him as a person or whatever. It's more that my favorites are also characters that Vic would not pull off well. Austria, Germany, and France would all sound really bad if voiced by Vic (none of my other favorites are relevant since they're either female, extremely minor to non-existent in the anime, or both).

I'd kind of prefer he play America, really. If they're doing accents, he'd really have to be America or Canada, since I doubt he could pull off a convincing foreign accent, and it would be amusing to watch all the silly little USUK and Russia/America fangirls and Vic both behaving like children about guy on guy pairings.

I really wouldn't mind if he played Al. I prefer the original voice, but I can't see him pulling off an accent well, and he sounds too obnoxious to be Canada (and even then, if they're going all out, there are Canadian accents they could use).

Otherwise, I COULD see him as one of the Italies. A friend of mine gave me one of his CDs (she was a fan and got it cheap when she met him once, and its actually good) and through that I found out he comes from a very Italian family. So, yeah, if he's not Al, then he SHOULD be one of them, simply because of experience with the accent/speaking mannerisms and all that. Ah well, my two cents.

Kay, yeah, I'm a Russiamerica fan, just like I'm a Kyouya/Tamaki fan and a Dark/Krad fan and was an Envy/Ed fan when I was into FMA. I'm aware of his NONE OF MY CHARACTERS ARE GAY LOL mindset and do what I wish more fans would do - ignore it. If he gets Al, I'm not going to grab Elise when we're both coldwar-ing it and make out in front of him. That would be dumb and just cause unnecessary drama. So what if that's his mindset? Personally, I think most if not all Hetalia characters are bi/pansexual. They kind of have to be. I'm not of the LOL EVERYTHING IS BUTTSEX camp, and am aware that most political things and wars and such were just that and didn't end in happy sunshine and sunflowers roses in the bedroom, but I also believe that its a rare occurrence when they'll go for a human... so their options are quite limited.

Ah well, you've heard my two cents before, and its almost 5:30, so I'll stop rambling this comment on. Sorry. XD

Yeah, I pretty much agree with all that. He actually wouldn't be terrible as Romano, in my opinion, assuming hearing the accents and all that means that he can actually pull one off. Either way idk.

And I'm a France/America fan, but I'm not gonna be slipping him scans of R-18 Framerica doujin just to be a bitch. Really, that's just not only sinking to his level, but sinking below it. If you don't like Vic, don't go to his panels at cons. If you really can't stand Vic, don't watch dubs that he's in. It's that simple. People with viewpoints like his aren't gonna change, and showing up at his panels and such isn't going to do anything aside from aiding in stroking his ego because of how many people show up.

I agree on characters' sexualities and sleeping with humans. France and Greece probably sleep with humans quite a bit, or at least try in France's case, but aside from them, I doubt if it's common. There are only two characters that I can picture having an "exclusive" sexuality; Sweden is gay (considering Himaruya did say so), and I pretty strongly believe that Austria is straight (which really wouldn't be a big deal even with the reservations about sleeping with humans thing because Austria reeeeaaaaally doesn't seem like he'd be all that interested in sex to really care that much if he's not getting laid. More piano time!)
