I'm back in Bloomington. Had a great day yesterday with the guys back in Angola. Watched a bunch of Hyperdimension Neptunia together and played Weiss Schwarz and generally had fun. Also Korey and I went to see his mom and brother, which was really nice.

Also short Christmas loot update:

From Korey's mom: $30
From DJ: $25 Barnes and Noble gift card
From Cody: a Nightmare Moon dog tag and Bop It Tetris for both Korey and I.

Christmas!

I've had a good holiday so far. Korey and I came back to Angola on the 23rd. Before we left Bloomington, my parents gave us a couple early gifts. I also gave mom her's since I figured she might want it for our early morning the next day (I got her nice coffee), and Korey had me open what he got me, too. We went to Fazoli's for dinner before heading to Angola. I'd forgotten that Fazoli's is delicious.

On Christmas Eve we got up stupidly early to go to Chicago for the Christmas market. It was super fun as always and I had gluwein and bratwurst and potato pancakes and chocolate and we bought a whole stollen. We had dinner at Pizza King when we got home. Awesome.

Today we've just been rolling around as is standard. Whenever Korey's family wakes up we'll go over there.

Here's what all I got:

From Korey:
-Jack Daniels Gentleman Jack

From parents:
-silly Christmas shirt
-cake pop pan
-fuzzy socks

-Tempur-Pedic pillow
-a bunch of nice socks (some are from Sock Dreams)
-2 pairs of arm warmers from Sock Dreams
-a Lush gift set (2 bath bombs, a bath melt, FUN, and a bar of soap)
-Bath and Body Works handsoaps (sweet cinnamon pumpkin, spice kissed pumpkin, peach bellini)
-Bath and Body Works shower gel and bubble bath (dark kiss and Japanese cherry blossom respectively)
-bamboo steamer
-$25 Papa John's gift card
-$25 Dearden Restaurants gift card (so Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, or Olive Garden)
-Urban Decay eyeshadow primer
-Black Lagoon seasons 1 and 2 blu ray
-Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (just the first 2 discs)
-Girls und Panzer on blu ray
-Pacific Rim on DVD
-a Bailey's gift set with 2 glasses
-candy cane chapstick
-Utena the movie soundtrack
-Hard Candy blue eyeshadow palette
-a metric fuckton of candy including some from DeBrand's

Extended Family:
Nothing yet

Friends:
Nothing yet

But I did get a cute plush otter from the anime club white elephant.

Also Korey and my parents loved what I got them. I got a Weiss Schwarz booster box and Victoria's Secret cologne for Korey, nice coffee for mom, and an excessively large bottle of Pabst Blue Ribbon for dad.

Everything's been great. My sister's in freakin' Hawaii so she wasn't at grandma's (so jealous lmao, and I did miss her) but she had gifts left for us. She got me socks, fancy lotion, and a Barnes and Noble gift card, and grandma gave me money. She gave Korey a little, too ;3; so sweet of her. It was a pretty good Christmas at grandma's thing, with the usual candy, and getting to see my cousins was so nice as always. God I missed them. Especially Chelsea ;3;.

Then this morning was standard and nice. Korey was here too. Pics, haul, etc under the cut.

yay Christmas )

So uh. You know that bit of time between Thanksgiving and Christmas break where college destroys you? Uh yeah. Ouch. I am so glad that's over. I passed my math class (it's a pass/fail) and got a B+ in German (would've been higher but I overslept one too many days). Don't know my final grades for the others yet. Now I'm just delighted to be home with no responsibilities for 3 weeks. I plan to spend it going on some day trips, hanging out with some people, drinking, and being a nerd.

Today's accomplishments:

-Slept in until 11 AM hell yes
-Watched today's MLP episode, and the 2 Lemongrabs episode of Adventure Time, finally
-got my Houndoom up a couple more levels
-went to the YMCA
-played with the puppy a lot
-downloaded a bunch of Ke$ha music because I want Korey to hate me

Today's been awesome. Also I got a couple boxes in the mail from WeLoveFine. Now I have another Lemongrab shirt, a Fionna and Cake shirt, another Rarity shirt, and Rainbow Dash shorts. Yay.

School kicked my ass so that's really all I have to say. Hi guys.

First I'd like to remind you all that I'm possibly offering Christmas cards but I'll need your addresses if you want one.

Also I'm doing that holiday wishes meme again because why not. I throw it up every year.

STEP ONE
Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ/Dreamwidth so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. German language practice partners. I have skype, and just writing back and forth in German works, too, but I need practice.

2. A donation to The ASPCA in my name

3. Adopt an endangered species from The World Wildlife Federation for me. Any animal would be appreciated, but I'd particularly like it to go to a tiger, gray wolf, snow leopard, arctic fox, Darwin's fox, red fox, or anaconda. Honestly, any of the foxes in particular would be preferable.

4. f!Hawke/Merrill, Isabela/Bethany, and Zevran/Wynne fanworks (Dragon Age 2 and Origins). I'd especially love it if you used my custom Hawke. If anyone wants to do that I'll upload a picture of her. Default Hawke is fine too though.

5. Points for my crunchyroll account so renewing it isn't so expensive, or a 6 month or year subscription. My username is feuerwerke.

6. Hairclips. Cute hairclips make me super happy.

7. Healthy recipes that are also delicious

8. Music! Just make me a mixtape of songs you think I'd like, either by just giving me a mediafire link, or the old fashioned way, burning it onto a CD.

9. Volunteer at your local animal shelter. Just comment here to say you did it afterward. That'll make me smile.

10. A giftcard to Noodles & Co or Potbelly's. Hungry college student and all.

Just ask me for my address if you want to do anything you'd need it for.
nachtmusik: (Das alles ist Deutschland)
I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to actually send holiday cards this year, but I'm still going to post this in case I decide to do so. If you want a card, please PM me with your address. I never keep addresses from this anywhere because I fail, so I'll need it even if I've sent you a card before.

Fuck all the Grinches and Scrooges of the world, I love Christmas and I'm feeling all giddy and Christmas-y at this point. I did in fact go Black Friday shopping this morning, though I will not disclose what all I got lest anyone who would care stumbles upon this post between now and Christmas. Though I will say I got a Slytherin shirt and a copy of Fellowship of the Ring on BD for myself. Between this trip and a small shopping trip on Monday I've gotten my mom, Katie, and a friend from IU taken care of, plus part of what I'm getting for Kendall and Korey. I still need to get the rest of what I plan to get for the significant others, then take care of my dad, the guy friends, and my other friend from IU. I decided I'm not getting Brooke anything. I'm going to get her a belated birthday/Christmas gift at ACen. I doubt if I'll see her over Christmas break, so yeah.

I'll need to find room for it once I get back to IU, but I got myself a mini Christmas tree <3 I'm excited for that and my string of lights. My dorm room needs to become Christmas-y.

I'm so proud of myself right now, too. As I'm typing this I have a couple pumpkin pies in the oven that I made. From scratch. Including the crusts. Awwww yeah.

What else have I been doing? I beat Fate/Extra and I'm back to playing Pokemon Conquest. I'll start either Phoenix Wright or Catherine next depending on how long Conquest takes me (see; if it's too close to a major break where I'll be at home without my PS3, that means I'm picking Phoenix Wright).

I went to my first fencing tournament ever last weekend. It was pretty awesome, and I actually managed to win a bout. Only one, but I still won it and I won it 5-0. The quidditch Midwest Cup was pretty great, too. We didn't do as well as we could've because we were short on players, but for what we had we did amazing.

In more ridiculous news, so uh. I went on a date with Korey and Kendall recently. Both of them. At once. To go see a musical about sexually frustrated German teens. It was rather fitting. But yes the Spring Awakening date went well. My boyfriend and my girlfriend are bros, there's no jealousy involved, etc, so it's all good. And we had fun potentially horrifying those around us!

So yes this has been my life. I've been home for break since late Sunday night thanks to that fencing tournament eating the first weekend and forcing me to be in a car for 10 hours. I'm here until Sunday. Most of my time has been dedicated to snuggling Korey ;3;

1. My paid account and extra icon package expire soon here, sadly. I'd love for someone to renew it for me if they feel so inclined.
2. Austria/Hungary fic/art/any other sort of creative work! There's never enough of my OTP out there as far as I'm concerned.
3. Hairclips! I'm kind of addicted to them. Especially the bow-shaped kind.
4. Things that'll be useful for college next fall. Even just tips on good things to pack would work here as well as physical items, I'm kind of in over my head on this one! Though one thing (aside from a laptop) that I know I need but don't have yet is an umbrella.
5. Cute shirts, size L-2X. I'm trying not to do much clothes shopping for myself right now because of how rapid my weight loss is; within a few months things that fit perfect now will be too big (though I have a seamstress that can resize things for me, so it's not like it's a total waste, but still). However, most of the shirts in my closet are like. 3X and 4X and I'm swimming in them right now. So yeah shirts would be awesome.
6. Fic/Art/Etc of some of my rarer ships! Switzerland/Belgium, Prussia/Italy, Vietnam/Taiwan, Hungary/fem!Prussia, Monaco/Liechtenstein, etc. Ships from my other fandoms are loved, too! Like Komui/Miranda. Or hell, Kyoko/Sayaka would be appreciated, too, even though it's FAR from a rarepair. If you check my journal I have an intro post with most of my ships.
7. Adopt an endangered animal in my name! I'd really love for anyone to do this with any animal, but I'd especially appreciate arctic fox, kit fox, snow leopard, clouded leopard, and bat adoptions in particular.
8. Donate to the ASPCA for me!
9. Recipes! Any recipes for good, healthy meat, cheese, dairy, etc dishes. After my surgery I really need to make sure I'm eating a lot of protein, so I always need new ideas for things to make that have lots of protein.
10. People to practice my German with! Via text or verbally on Skype or both.

Like every year, I do this with varying levels of success. Since I can actually drive and shit I have no excuse to fail to get cards out this year, though. ='|

Sooooo, who wants a Christmas card from me? I'll send them anywhere around the world, so don't worry about that, foreign friends! Just comment here with your address; comments are screened. ♥

Note: I do not expect anything back, even if you've sent me stuff in the past, so if you can't afford to send cards this year or can't do it for whatever reason, don't worry about it! I'll still gladly send you something. If you do want to send me something back, though, I'd gladly accept it. Just let me know if you want to either here or in a PM and I'll PM my address to you if you don't already have it.

Also note: I default to Christmas cards, but if you have a problem with that for whatever reason, I'll gladly send you something that's general winter holiday-themed or specific to a different winter holiday. Just let me know in your comment so I know, because the default is Christmas.

No, really, I actually did. I myself was not in Milan, but the performance was! Opera in Cinema is something that Carmike cinemas do and it is AWESOME. They basically simulcast operas (and ballets) that are being performed in Europe. So mom and I got up super early and took Berlitz to the pet resort so we could get to the theater at 11 AM.

The performance was incredible. It was 5 hours long, but it really didn't feel like it. The actress playing Sieglinde was incredible, and she's played 16 different Wagner roles in her lifetime! They interviewed her during one of the intermissions. The actress playing Brünnhilde was also incredible. And everyone else, too * ^ *

After that ended mom and I did some Christmas shopping. I only have a few more gifts to buy~ ♥

Oh, I also finally have a copy of Kristin Chenoweth's Christmas CD! It's really good!

I'm just doing this for fun. I don't expect anyone to do anything for me :3

List:

1. Fics or fanart for any of my favorite characters or any of the pairings I have listed on my info post, especially the less common ones.

2. A paid account renewal and/or icon space

3. Handmade things! Any sort of crafty thing you like to do.

4. Symbolic animal adoptions for the kit fox, arctic fox, black-capped chickadee, red fox, western diamond back rattlesnake, walrus, river otter, stingray, seahorse, octopus, monarch butterfly, vampire bat, black footed ferret, Darwin's fox, or snow leopard. (What can I say? I seriously love animals.)

5. A Ukrainian egg ornament from here; the proceeds go towards helping stop human trafficking and everything on this site is made my survivors of it.

6. If you can sing or play a musical instrument, make an audio or video recording and send it to me! idk I just think that would be cool

7. Send me some sort of holiday greeting, be it through card, e-card, or just leave a comment on my LJ when Christmas rolls around. A traditional greeting from your area would be especially cool ♥.

8. Music recommendations. I can never get enough.

9. Just go be awesome and spread goodwill.

Since this post is public I won't be including my address, but if you want to send me anything physical and therefore need it, either PM me for it or email me at fraurichtig@gmail.com

Merry Christmas everyone ♥
